Repossessed and Investment Property Auctions
Most repossessed
properties sell through auctions. The best bargains certainly do. If
they’ve got to sell fast, they go to auction and sell cheap! What you
now need to know is how to buy these repossessed properties at the best
prices at auction.
Property Auctions: Property Auction Catalogue
Property entrepreneurs
who have made killings from repossessed properties have lots of advice
to offer, not least about auction catalogues.
Property Auctions:
Viewing Auction Properties
Many would-be property entrepreneurs
study the auction catalogue’s photos and layouts for a particular
property and form a judgement on that basis. You really need to pay a
visit to any property to form an accurate judgement of it. You should
see what it is like inside and out and – just as important when it comes
to selling on and profiting - check the neighbourhood as well.
Property Auctions:
Finance Your Property Auction Buy
Apart from going along and bidding,
buying a repossessed property at an auction is really no different from
buying a property in the conventional manner – except it’s almost
certainly going to be a fair bit cheaper!
Property Auctions:
How to Bid at Property Auction
It’s wise to keep tabs on your target
property from the moment you’ve spotted it. Make contact with the
auction house as early as possible to let them know you're interested in
the particular property.
Property Auctions - London
Trawl through the following
auctioneers – London, North, South, Midlands, East, West - making a note
of those that are of interest to you. Remember, you’re looking to
contact local, regional and national auctioneers that might cover your
area. If in doubt, follow it through. It’s better to make an extra one
or two calls than risk missing out on a would-be buy. For each
auctioneer ...
Property Auctions - The North
The North-East has
various auctioneers selling repossessed properties. Some properties will
go down to London though. Repossessed properties for auction in the
North-West tend to go mostly to Liverpool or Manchester. A few may go to
London. Yorkshire properties tend to sell locally too. As always, a few
will go to London or other big city events.
Property Auctions - The South
Southern England has
many auctioneers. Check the following and contact the London auction
houses too. Repossessed properties from the south are as likely to sell
in London as they do in the southern counties...
Property Auctions - The Midlands
Many repossessed
properties in the East Midlands go to Nottingham, Derby or Leicester
auctioneers although a proportion go instead to London. Birmingham
auctioneers will usually auction off properties from the West Midlands.
Other auctioneers in the area may sell more locally.
Property Auctions - The West
The counties from Somerset down to
Cornwall are often viewed as a ‘graveyard’ for property auctioneers.
However, those in the know are aware of several auctioneers who are
active in this part of the country.
Property Auctions - Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland
Of course, there are
property auctioneers in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland too. The
following are the ones that are recommended most often by property
entrepreneurs active in this industry…
Buying At
Auction – A Quick Summary
If you buy via an estate agent, the
procedure is a straightforward and familiar one. You see a property you
like, drive by, look at the property particulars and then view
internally etc if it appeals to you. You make an offer. If it is
accepted, you finalise your finances. You
The
Auction Catalogue – What You Need To Know
Auction catalogues are generally
free, at least to first-time callers. If you want to receive them
regularly then, in theory, you can put in a standing order for them in
exchange for a couple of pounds per catalogue (never let it be said that
an auctioneer might miss the opportunity to make a few quid where they
can). In practice, if you simply call each time, you should get a free
catalogue. Use the phone numbers listed in previous AIG issues – don’t
use any premium rate line number they try to get you call at about a
pound or two a call.
