Many of you have been asking me for a list of auctioneers for repossessed properties all over the country. Wherever you live, there will be an auctioneer that covers your area, and often several auctioneers. Even out-in-the-sticks Norfolk has three or four regular auctioneers. Repossessed properties may be sold via a local auction or they may go to the nearest big city auction. Much depends on how each lender handles repossessed properties - they may be sold by the local office, or go to the regional or head office in London, Birmingham or Manchester. If you are looking for repossessed properties near to you, it is sensible to monitor local auctioneers. Check with the nearest big city auctioneers as well. And, just to ensure you have complete coverage, remember to keep in touch with local estate agents too. They may sell repossessed properties in the conventional manner. They may also run the occasional, one-off auction themselves as well!         

Trawl through the following auctioneers - London, North, South, Midlands, East, West - making a note of those that are of interest to you. Remember, you're looking to contact local, regional and national auctioneers that might cover your area. If in doubt, follow it through. It's better to make an extra one or two calls than risk missing out on a would-be buy. For each auctioneer, you'll see a description and a telephone number. Call to ask about their upcoming auctions. This is the simplest and most effective way to start searching. Auctioneers are most responsive to a phone call - letters, faxes and e-mails rarely receive such immediate attention.
